1

Add the Jira trigger

Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and runs your playbook in response.

Click "Add trigger" and select "Issue created" under Jira. Select which Jira Project to watch. If this is your first time using a Jira integration in Relay, you'll be prompted to connect your Jira account.

Now, every time an issue is created in Jira, your playbook will run automatically.

2

Get the associated HubSpot Company

Next, you'll need to identify the Hubspot company associated with the Jira issue.

Select "Get company" from the list of Jira automations. For a search query, insert the field from Jira that refers to the company name. This example uses the epic name to identify the company, but you may have a custom field to identify customers instead.

You can test if you've selected the right field by inserting a sample value in the Test section.

3

Add the HubSpot Create Ticket automation

Now you can create a new ticket in HubSpot for the relevant customer. Add a new step and select "Create ticket" from the list of HubSpot automations.

Fill out the new ticket details, like the name and associated company from the previous step. Reference fields from Jira to automatically add details from Jira to the HubSpot ticket.

4

Turn on the playbook

When you are done with the playbook, it's time to turn it on.

The playbook will now run automatically whenever a new issue is created in Jira. You can also click "Check now" to do a manual check whenever you'd like.
