How to create a Gmail draft for every new Pipedrive contact

Create your playbook

Begin by setting up the steps that coordinate between Pipedrive and Gmail for your workflow.

First, sign up for and go to your dashboard. Click on the "New playbook" button to initiate the playbook creation process.

Name your playbook with a unique title like "Create drafts in Gmail for Pipedrive contacts" and select a relevant emoji, such as 📝, to easily identify it.


Set the Pipedrive trigger as "Person added"

Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and initiates your playbook's actions.

Click "Add trigger" and select "Person added" under Pipedrive automation. This will allow your playbook to automatically detect a person added in Pipedrive and initiate necessary actions.

If this is your first time using a Pipedrive integration in, a prompt will guide you through the connection process.


Add the "Create draft" in Gmail automation

Integrate the Gmail automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt creation of email drafts for each person added in Pipedrive.

Click the "Add step" button, then locate the "Create draft" automation for Gmail and input the mandatory and relevant details.

If your Gmail account isn't already connected to, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for to sync with your Gmail account.


Activate your playbook

Activating your playbook is the final step to automate the creation of a new email draft. Once turned on, it will respond to a new person added in Pipedrive by crating a new email draft in Gmail without manual intervention.

To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are being sent correctly.
