How to automatically create tasks in Todoist for new Airtable records

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Airtable, Todoist, and many other apps.

1

Add the Airtable trigger

Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and responds to your playbook.

Click "Add trigger" and select "Record created" under Airtable. Then, select a table. If this is your first time using an Airtable integration in Relay, you'll be prompted to connect your Airtable account.

Every time a record is created in Airtable, your playbook will run automatically.

2

Add the Todoist "Create task" automation

Now, you can create a new task in Todoist. Add a further step and select "Create task" from the list of Todoist automations.

Connect Todoist to Relay if you haven't already, then fill out the details like content, description, project, labels, priority, and due date. You can reference fields from Airtable to pass along the correct data automatically.

3

Turn on the playbook

When you are done with the playbook, it's time to turn it on.

The playbook will now run automatically whenever a record is created in Airtable. You can also click "Check now" to manually check whenever you'd like.
