How to add new Harvest users to Trello as new cards

Create your playbook

Begin by setting up the steps that coordinate between Harvest and Trello for your workflow.

First, sign up for and go to your dashboard. Click on the "New playbook" button to initiate the playbook creation process.

Name your playbook with a unique title like "Sync new Harvest users to a Trello list" and select a relevant emoji, such as 📝, to easily identify it.


Set the Harvest trigger as "User created"

Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and initiates your playbook's actions.

Click "Add trigger" and select "User created" under Harvest automation. Then, select the necessary fields. This will allow your playbook to automatically detect new users created in Harvest and initiate necessary actions.

If this is your first time using a Harvest integration in, a prompt will guide you through the connection process


Add the "Add card to list" in Trello automation

Integrate the Trello automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt creation of a new card in your list for each user created in Harvest.

Select the "Add step" button, then locate the "Add card to list" automation for Trello and input the mandatory and relevant details.

If your Trello account isn't already connected to, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for to sync with your Trello account.


Activate your playbook

Activating your playbook is the final step to automate the creation of a new card in Trello. Once turned on, it will respond to a new user created in Harvest by creating a corresponding card in the Trello list without manual intervention.

To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are being sent correctly.
