How to send notifications to Slack for new Airtable records

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Slack, Airtable, and many other apps.

1

Add the Airtable trigger

Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and runs your playbook in response.

Click "Add trigger" and select "Record created" under Airtable. Then, select the table you want to monitor. If this is your first time using an Airtable integration in Relay, you'll be prompted to connect your Airtable account.

Now, every time a record is created in Airtable, your playbook will run automatically.

2

Add the Slack Send message via bot automation

Now you can send a message through a Slack bot. Add a new step and select "Send message via bot" from the list of Slack automations.

Connect Slack to Relay if you haven't already, then fill out details like destination channel and message. You can reference fields from Airtable to automatically pass along the right data.

3

Turn on the playbook

When you are done with the playbook, it's time to turn it on.

The playbook will now run automatically whenever a record is created in Airtable. You can also click "Check now" to do a manual check whenever you'd like.
