Create your playbook

To automate this workflow, you'll create a Relay playbook that runs automatically every time a new row is added to Google Sheets.

Get started by signing up at and clicking "New playbook." Give your new playbook a unique name and emoji.

Add the Google Sheets "Row added" trigger

Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and runs your playbook in response.

Click "Add trigger" and select "Row added" under Google Sheets. Then, select the sheet. This trigger will automatically detect all the new rows added in Google Sheets to add new notes in corresponding tickets in Intercom.

If this is your first time using a Google Sheets integration in Relay, you'll be prompted to connect your Google Sheets account.

Add the Intercom "Add note to ticket" automation

Integrate the Intercom automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt addition of a new note to a ticket in Intercom for every new row added in Google Sheets. Add a new step and select "Add note to ticket" from the list of Intercom automations.

Connect Intercom to Relay if you haven't already, then fill out the mandatory and necessary details. You can reference fields from Google Sheets to automatically pass along the right data.

Turn on the playbook

Activating your playbook is the final step to automate adding a new note to a ticket in Intercom for every new row added in Google Sheets. Once turned on, it will respond to a new row added in Google Sheets by creating a new note to a ticket in Intercom without manual intervention.

To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are sent correctly.
