Set the Google Calendar trigger as “Event upcoming”

A playbook always starts with a trigger, responsible for detecting changes in your connected applications and responding accordingly.

Add the Google Calendar trigger to initiate your playbook's actions whenever there's an upcoming event. Click "Add trigger" in your playbook and choose "Event upcoming" from the dropdown menu under Google Calendar.

If you still need to connect your Google Calendar account to Relay.app yet, a prompt will guide you through the process.

2

Add the “Send to channel as Bot” step in Slack

Integrate the Slack automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt sending of notifications to a Slack channel using a bot every time there's an upcoming event in Google Calendar.

Click the "Add step" button, locate the “Send to channel as Bot” automation for Slack, and input the mandatory and relevant details.

If your Slack account still needs to be connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your Slack account.

3

Activate your playbook

Activating your playbook is the last step in the process. Once you turn it on, it will automatically send notifications to a Slack channel using a bot every time there's an upcoming event in Google Calendar without requiring manual intervention.

To activate your playbook, click the toggle button at the header. Before activating, we recommend performing a test run of your playbook to ensure all the steps work seamlessly together.
