How to automate adding activities to Pipedrive projects when a Google Sheet spreadsheet is added to a specific folder

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Pipedrive, Google Sheets, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to automatically run the “add activity to project” action in Pipedrive for each spreadsheet added to folder in Google Sheets using Relay.app.

1

Create your playbook and set the Google Sheets trigger as "Spreadsheet added to folder"

After creating your playbook, you can proceed to add your trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and responds to your playbook.

To setup this playbook, click "Add trigger" and then select "Spreadsheet added to folder" under Google Sheets. Then, select the parent folder where spreadsheets are added. This will allow your playbook to automatically detect when a spreadsheet is added to a specific folder and initiate necessary actions.

If this is your first time using a Google Sheets integration in Relay.app, a prompt will guide you through the connection process.

2

Add the "Find project" & "Add activity to project" in Pipedrive automation

Integrate the Pipedrive automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt addition of a new activity to a project whenever a Google Sheets spreadsheet is added to a specific folder.

Click the "Add step" button, then locate the "Find project" to identify which project to be added an activity. Then, select "Add activity to project" automation for Pipedrive and input the mandatory and relevant details.

If your Pipedrive account isn't already connected to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Make sure to allow the necessary permissions for Relay.app to sync with your Pipedrive account.

3

Activate your Relay.app playbook

Activating your playbook is the final step to automate the addition of an activity to a specific project in Pipedrive. Once turned on, it will respond to each Google Sheets spreadsheet added to a specific folder by adding an activity to a specific project in Pipedrive without manual intervention.

To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are being sent correctly.
