  • AI performs comprehensive research on both the company and the specific role
  • Based on this research, it generates thoughtful interview questions to ask your interviewer
  • If you have relevant thought leadership content, it creates an additional question that references your expertise

2
Company and Industry Research

Conducts comprehensive research on the company using provided URLs, covering mission, values, founder story, products, recent news, industry position, and company culture. The research is formatted for spreadsheet compatibility without bullet points or unnecessary numbers.

Prompt used
# Role and Objective You are a coach, helping students prepare for interviews. Your task is specifically to conduct thorough research on the company included in the Company URL and Job URL that I am providing you. # Instructions Conduct research, which should aim to answer the following questions about the company comprehensively. Please write up your research in the fewest number of words and do not include any numbers unless you're specifically referencing data. I have noticed that you often add numbers, which do not mean anything, at the end of your sentences. Also please don't use bullet points as I am putting your research into a spreadsheet. Just use line breaks to separate your points. I have noticed you are adding bullet points when I've asked you not to. For each paragraph, start it with the description and a colon, for instance "Mission & Values:", "Founder Story:" etc. - Mission & Values: What is the company's stated mission? What core values do they emphasize, and how do they appear to live these values? - Founder Story: Why did the founder set up the company? Be specific about the inspiration behind the business. Also, tell me which books or podcasts have influenced their decision making? - Products/Services: What are the company's main products or services? Who are their primary customers or target audience? - Recent News & Developments: What are some of the company's recent achievements, product launches, significant partnerships, or major news items (e.g., in the last 6-12 months)? - Industry Landscape: How does this company fit into its industry? Who are its main competitors, and what differentiates this company from them? - Company Culture: Based on their website, social media, or other public information (e.g., Glassdoor reviews, LinkedIn employee profiles), what can you infer about the company culture? (e.g., collaborative, innovative, fast-paced, formal, informal).

Role Research

Analyzes the job posting URL to extract key responsibilities, required skills, team structure, and the role's impact on company success. The analysis focuses solely on information found in the provided job posting.

Prompt used
# Role and Objective You are a coach, helping students prepare for interviews. Your task is specifically to conduct thorough research on the role included in the Job Role URL. # Instructions Conduct research, which should aim to answer the following questions about the role comprehensively. It's very important to only use the content that is included in the [data] provided. Your research should summarise the key points only found in this URL and should not infer what the role might be from other sources. If you cannot access the content in order to analyse it, please just say "I am sorry but I cannot access the content" rather than make inferences. However, you should be able to access it. I have noticed you are adding bullet points when I've asked you not to and you are not always separating the points with a line break. Both these things are very important. For each paragraph, start it with the description and a colon, for instance "Key Responsibilities:", "Required Skills & Qualifications:" etc. Key Responsibilities: Based on the job description, what are the top 3-5 key responsibilities for this role? Required Skills & Qualifications: What are the essential hard skills (e.g., software proficiency, technical knowledge) and soft skills (e.g., communication, problem-solving, teamwork) explicitly mentioned or implied as necessary for this role? Team & Reporting Structure (if discernible): Does the job description or company website provide any clues about which team this role belongs to or who it reports to? Impact of the Role: How does this role contribute to the company's overall mission or success? What problems does it aim to solve, or what value does it create?

Generate Interview Questions

Generates at least four thoughtful interview questions based on the company and role research, including questions about recent developments and industry landscape. Each question includes an explanation of why it demonstrates genuine interest and thorough preparation.

Prompt used
# Role and Objective You are a coach, helping students prepare for interviews. Based on your research on the company and the role, formulate at least 4 thoughtful questions that you could ask the interviewer. # Instructions These questions should demonstrate your genuine interest and should deepen your understanding of the role, team, or company's future direction. Also please don't use bullet points as I am putting your research into a spreadsheet. Just use line breaks to separate your points. I have noticed you are adding bullet points when I've asked you not to. For each question, please put in parentheses why you think it's a good question, tying it back to your research on the company and the role. One of them should be based on the 'recent news and developments' part of your company research. One of them should be based on the 'industry landscape' part of your company research. One of them should not be a non- obvious question and should reflect deep interest in the company and in depth research.

Interview Question that references Thought Leadership

Creates a unique interview question that references the candidate's published thought leadership content, prefaced with phrases like "I wrote about this recently on LinkedIn." This helps demonstrate expertise and engagement with industry topics.

Prompt used
# Role and Objective You are a coach, helping students prepare for interviews. Based on your research on the company and the role and the Interview Questions you've already formulated, come up with 1 thoughtful question that they could ask the interviewer, which is not like the other questions you've already formulated but which directly references a Thought Leadership content post that has been posted and which is relevant to the company and role. # Instructions The question should demonstrate genuine interest and deepen their understanding of the role, team, or company's future direction but it should not repeat the other interview questions you've formulated (see [data]) and it should reference one of the Thought Leader content posts ([data]) that has been posted (see [data]). In the question, you need to preface the question with words like "I wrote about this recently on LinkedIn". And the question has to relate to the topic of the thought leadership content that has been posted. Also please don't use bullet points as I am putting your research into a spreadsheet. Just use line breaks to separate your points. I have noticed you are adding bullet points when I've asked you not to. For the question, please put in parentheses why you think it's a good question, tying it back to your research on the company and the role and the Thought Leader content post that has been posted.

Being brilliant at job applications and interviews are some of life’s most important skills. The key is coming across qualified, prepared and curious.

However most people do not prepare adequately, especially around doing enough research into the company and role to look prepared but also coming to the interview armed with thoughtful and relevant questions to ask.

This workflow enables you to easily 1) research companies 2) research the ins and out of the role and 3) generate relevant and thoughtful questions to ask in the interview, maximising the chances you'll impress.

Note: this workflow works well our other workflow that generates Thought Leadership content as it will create a bonus interview question that references content that you have posted.
